One of the most dramatic signs in our lifetimes was the fulfillment of St. John’s long awaited prophecy from Revelation12:1, written 2000 years ago. Remember his words:

A great sign appeared in heaven: a woman clothed with the sun, with the moon under her feet and a crown of twelve stars on her head.

As some fasters may remember, we talked about that incredible celestial set up leading up to September 23, 2017 and the significance of that event. Some astronomers said that the event we saw that night will not repeat for 7000 years. Here is an illustration of what it looked like that evening as John’s vision became a sign for the world to see:

The point of Revelation is not to recount the birth of Bethlehem – this passage was a prophesy of a new birth and new era of the Savior’s reign.   Recall also what  followed in revelation after that great prophecy:

^{Rev 12:6}  The woman fled into the wilderness to a place prepared for her by God, where she might be taken care of for 1,260 days.

With great enthusiasm, we greeted the end of that 1260-day period believing that it was signaling the entrance of the Savior into the world in a new special way. It is interesting to note that unlike other apparitions where Mary has appeared, in Medjugorje, apparitions that she has characterized as the fulfillment of all of her apparitions, she is now seen wearing a crown of 12 stars - just as she is described in Revelation, and as was displayed in the heavens in 2017.

This week celebrated yet another special feast in the Church - the Crowning of Mary as Queen of heaven and earth. Granted this is not described in scriptures but just as the wisest of kings, Solomon, crowned his mother it stands to reason Jesus would want to do the same for his mother. After all Mary was there for Him from His first moment until His dying breath.

And if she is to wear a crown of 12 stars as John saw and other visionaries have seen, there had to be an event between when she died and this current moment when she was given that extraordinary crown of stars.

In conclusion reflecting on this special woman pictured into the skies by Heaven itself, below please find a link to a talk given by Fr. Mike Schmitz last week on the occasion of her death.  Fr. Mike links the vision of St. John who saw the Ark of the Covenant and that vision’s transition to Mary as Heaven’s explanation that Mary is the new Ark of the Covenant. To us, Fr. Mike’s insights are extraordinary. We never heard anyone connect Mary’s roll as the new ark of the covenant spoken of in Revelation to the scriptural passages of King David, Samuel, Elizabeth, and Obed Edom. 

The precision of God‘s plan is extraordinary. We hope you enjoy it half as much as we did.

Why We Fast – Our Core Fasting Intentions

1) We add the new fasting intention of taking back the church from evil. We submit the three-step process to achieve this victory is 1-Repent, 2-Prayer & Fasting and, 3-Imitate our Savior by throwing the evil leadership from the church. We will seek to emulate the Savior in our effort to End The USCCB, an organization that has been devastating to the church.  (“You shall know the spirit by the fruits” - Matt. 7:16)

2) For the Holy Spirit to reign down upon America, renewing our land as the Christian, capitalist meritocracy we were founded to be.

3) For the protection of our police, firefighters, military and their families from harm and that the Lord bless their courageous generosity on our behalf.

4) For the protection of the families who fast with us, and for God’s blessings of abundance upon them and that true to His word, we will be able to witness that He prospered us in famine.

5) For priests, ministers and all who aspire to lead others to the Lord, that the Holy Spirit will reign down upon them as at Pentecost filling them to overflowing. 

6) For the Americans jailed after January 6th who were admitted to the Capitol building by the police, and who were not found to have destroyed any property at the capitol yet who have been held captive ever since on our own soil - That God's Spirit will move quickly to bring justice back to this land and free them.
