Some of history’s greatest victories occurred with the most incidental of starts. Frequently the greatness of one little step was not even contemplated let alone grasped by the journeyer.

In 24 hours September 17, 2021 will only be a memory.

In 72 hours most will have difficulty remembering what they did that was important on this autumn Friday.

And while the world shouts prayer is nonsense and your good pastors and evil bishops alike tell you that fasting is not necessary, Heaven whispers through the ages –

Your willingness to step up and fast today on bread and water as first century Christians said believers are obligated to do each Wednesday and Friday … will forever change history.

If heaven allowed the thin veil that separates this life from Paradise to be pulled back just a little to see the eternal impact our little sacrifice of fasting was having on history, having on our families and on our great nation, all believers would join.

But it is better to believe without seeing and your belief and faith is credited to you as righteousness and will forever be a badge of honor for you.

Whose life will you spare with your effort today?

Like Ezra’s example of how fasting protects the most vulnerable even in war zones, you will savor your decision to step up today when you understand how much good you accomplished.

Have satan and his minions been lying to you that your sins make you unworthy? That you can never be great? Yesterday the most studied gospel passage in the world illuminated that such thoughts and words are indeed just bitter lies from satan who fears that you will begin to appreciate – the God who created Heaven and earth … died just for you. He is focused on you like a puppy on food and he longs to share time with you this day just as that same puppy waits for his family with eagerness and enthusiasm.

Not only do past sins mean nothing to Jesus because only our future behavior matters to Him … He showed us that the bigger the sinner – the greater the lover of Providence.  Consider His words and relish how your past sins like the infamous Mary Magdalene’s are like raindrops on a windshield – soon they will be invisible and forever forgotten by our jealous God …

LUKE 7:36-50

36One of the Pharisees asked him to eat with him, and he went into the Pharisee's house, and took his place at table. 37And behold, a woman of the city, who was a sinner, when she learned that he was at table in the Pharisee's house, brought an alabaster flask of ointment, 38and standing behind him at his feet, weeping, she began to wet his feet with her tears, and wiped them with the hair of her head, and kissed his feet, and anointed them with the ointment. 39Now when the Pharisee who had invited him saw it, he said to himself, "If this man were a prophet, he would have known who and what sort of woman this is who is touching him, for she is a sinner." 40And Jesus answering said to him, "Simon, I have something to say to you." And he answered, "What is it, Teacher?" 41"A certain creditor had two debtors; one owed five hundred denarii, and the other fifty. 42When they could not pay, he forgave them both. Now which of them will love him more?" 43Simon answered, "The one, I suppose, to whom he forgave more." And he said to him, "You have judged rightly." 44Then turning toward the woman he said to Simon, "Do you see this woman? I entered your house, you gave me no water for my feet, but she has wet my feet with her tears and wiped them with her hair. 45You gave me no kiss, but from the time I came in she has not ceased to kiss my feet. 46You did not anoint my head with oil, but she has anointed my feet with ointment. 47Therefore I tell you, her sins, which are many, are forgiven, for she loved much; but he who is forgiven little, loves little." 48And he said to her, "Your sins are forgiven." 49Then those who were at table with him began to say among themselves, "Who is this, who even forgives sins?" 50And he said to the woman, "Your faith has saved you; go in peace."

What mattered to Jesus was her love of Him, her treatment of Jesus as special, her warmth rather than intellectual coldness which He had no time for.

So if you or someone you know feels unworthy of stepping up alongside us and changing history, if someone feels unworthy of the Creator’s love … invite him back to the Father. The sinner’s return gives our Creator so much joy.

Then as today turns into the weekend and the wonderful blessing that comes from a restful sabbath, plan accordingly. Prepare to enjoy the day and just being in His presence.  Prepare to praise Him as He deserves with your best music and singing.

Why We Fast – Our Fasting Intentions

1) For the Holy Spirit to reign down upon America renewing our land as the Christian, capitalist meritocracy we were founded to be.

2) For the protection of our police, firefighters, military and their families from harm and that the Lord bless their courageous generosity on our behalf one hundredfold.

3) For the protection of the families who fast with us, and for God’s blessings of abundance upon them and that true to His word, we will be able to witness that He prospered us in famine.
