We are now more than halfway to our goal of following in Esther’s legendary footsteps and recreating her biblical three day fast.

Pause for a few seconds and look around you – you have set out to climb a 72-step mountain most in the world would never try to climb. satan and evil discouraged you from trying as they feared the shift in the balance of power between good and evil with the bludgeoning your effort would bring down on evil. And now look how high you have climbed. Look how far down the base of the mountain is, look at the beautiful terrain far beneath your feet. Looking up, the task ahead will be difficult. You will likely feel moments of weakness, tire more easily tomorrow and find yourself just sleeping a little longer. Be patient with yourself. But the last 24 steps of this mountain are doable – You are almost there!

On Day three be alert for signs of dehydration from not drinking any water. You may want to sit in a bathtub or soak your feet in water, allowing your body to absorb some water without drinking any.  Of course if you feel you really need some, take what you need.

One believer from the Bible Belt told us today she had failed. She tried to fast but had headaches, felt weak and ate. Her comment was very interesting – She said that she had done water “fasts” on numerous occasions before, and those efforts had been relatively easy. But she now knows that she was really only dieting and not fasting then because her objective was self-improvement. Yesterday when she set out on her first spiritual fast – exactly the same routine but now abstaining from all ford for spiritual reasons she was dismayed at how difficult the abstinence was for her. She ate and drank and felt like she had failed miserably.

Heaven did not look at her effort as a failure. She had tried.

Those who don’t even try to fast will have a difficult time seeing our Savior’s face as it appeared on Good Friday, beaten so badly His own mother said she did not even recognize Him, and answering why we wouldn’t even make the effort to try. He did all that He did to save just one soul. Our efforts will unquestionably save souls. Even if you don’t see anything from your efforts, you can take it to the spiritual bank – you are unlocking eternal greatness. When you meet the souls who otherwise would not have received the grace of salvation were it not for your efforts, you will be moved to tears of joy knowing you shaped eternity.

Meanwhile here in America, evil is on retreat in many areas of our great nation from your fast.   We can expect that on Sunday as our fast completes and Pentecost dawns, the eyes of many Americans will be opened to truth as the Spirit reigns down on them.

No matter how you are participating – thank you for saying yes and trying. If like the believer described above, you have broken your fast already thinking you couldn’t make it – don’t waste tomorrow. Don’t listen to evil in its desperation now to keep you from fasting.

Get back up and try again - I am remiss in not having suggested that you ask the Holy Spirit to give you the strength to make it through to tomorrow night. Ask the Spirit to help you at the same time accomplish all of your responsibilities.

The sister referenced above told us that today when she re-committed to fasting despite having not made it through yesterday, evil seemed to have been beaten back from her – She felt better and stronger physically, had peace, and followed through on her sense she should confess her sins. 

Our sense is one of great serenity in Heaven. Our God who is so offended by the behavior of man after He has done everything for us … is seeing your response and it is balm for His heart that you care so much.

Did you see Beth’s effort He is asking the angels just as He asked in scripture. As He rides in His chariot across the clouds and the heavens He is so proud of your great effort.

Heavenly Father, we praise You and bless You as you ride over the earth in Your most beautiful chariot that scripture describes. We look forward to the day when we can ride with you on the clouds and see all that You have lined up for us. Thank you for all You do for us, especially for sending Jesus to die for us. We bless You as your scripture told us today that Your angels bless You. Father, we fast this week as Esther fasted having created lasting fruit that we recount millennia later. Let Your spirit pour out upon America this Pentecost and swiftly retore us to be Your nation, and a nation without peer in every regard. Father please also be generous with Your believers who are stepping out in faith and fasting for Your glory.  Let the world marvel at the glory of Your name in our lives. What a blessing it is to belong to You. We take joy in knowing our little effort has brought You solace and happiness today. Help us to complete this fast for You Father. We pray this in the name of Your Son, our Savior, Jesus.

6) For the Americans jailed after January 6th who were admitted to the Capitol building by the police, and who were not found to have destroyed any property at the capitol yet who have been held captive ever since on our own soil - That God's Spirit will move quickly to bring justice back to this land by freeing them while enlightening Americans how to bring God's justice back to our nation.

7) For young Megan who has an incurable liver condition @ Duke Hospital - Asking the Divine Physician for a complete healing.
