Tues. November 4th
After He healed, raised the dead and walked on water, Jesus commanded us – Go and “Do Greater Things.” We want to take Him up on that.
We are impacting history. God bless, and God bless America.
First Reading
Romans 12:3-13
3For by the grace given to me I bid every one among you not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think with sober judgment, each according to the measure of faith which God has assigned him. 4For as in one body we have many members, and all the members do not have the same function, 5so we, though many, are one body in Christ, and individually members one of another. 6Having gifts that differ according to the grace given to us, let us use them: if prophecy, in proportion to our faith; 7if service, in our serving; he who teaches, in his teaching; 8he who exhorts, in his exhortation; he who contributes, in liberality; he who gives aid, with zeal; he who does acts of mercy, with cheerfulness. 9Let love be genuine; hate what is evil, hold fast to what is good; 10love one another with brotherly affection; outdo one another in showing honor. 11Never flag in zeal, be aglow with the Spirit, serve the Lord. 12Rejoice in your hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer. 13Contribute to the needs of the saints, practice hospitality.
Responsorial Psalm
Psalms 89:2-5, 21-22, 25, 27
1I will sing of thy steadfast love, O LORD, for ever; with my mouth I will proclaim thy faithfulness to all generations. 2For thy steadfast love was established for ever, thy faithfulness is firm as the heavens. 3Thou hast said, “I have made a covenant with my chosen one, I have sworn to David my servant: 4‘I will establish your descendants for ever, and build your throne for all generations.’ ” Selah 20I have found David, my servant; with my holy oil I have anointed him; 21so that my hand shall ever abide with him, my arm also shall strengthen him. 24My faithfulness and my steadfast love shall be with him, and in my name shall his horn be exalted. 26He shall cry to me, ‘Thou art my Father, my God, and the Rock of my salvation.’
Gospel
John 10:11-16
11I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep. 12He who is a hireling and not a shepherd, whose own the sheep are not, sees the wolf coming and leaves the sheep and flees; and the wolf snatches them and scatters them. 13He flees because he is a hireling and cares nothing for the sheep. 14I am the good shepherd; I know my own and my own know me, 15as the Father knows me and I know the Father; and I lay down my life for the sheep. 16And I have other sheep, that are not of this fold; I must bring them also, and they will heed my voice. So there shall be one flock, one shepherd.
