Virtually every believer in America is looking at events as they are unfolding, and we are asking ourselves the same question as the apostles did.

Why can’t we get school choice into ghettos? It should be easiest argument possible – parents we are going to improve the quality of your education, offer your kids a better environment, and yet we can’t even win such a simple argument?

And why can’t we secure our border from violence, crime, and the invasion that is going on now to protect our citizens?

Why can’t we have elections that are honest and not rigged?

Why can’t we protect the savings of our working class in real gold and silver like our founders ordained would be the only legal money in this country? Why can’t we prevent the pillage the savings of Americans in paper money?

Why can’t we defend innocent children unborn, and even born for being slaughtered by the millions?

We are at the same point where Jesus’ apostles were in Mark, chapter 9. We have been taught the gospel.  We have lived with the Savior, and yet we’ve failed to drive out evil from our church and our nation and we are losing on virtually every front.

Why can’t we have victory over evil which presses us, Jesus?

Why Jesus?

Why?

His answer comes:

Because “this is a special case that requires prayer and fasting.” Mark 9:29

Would anyone like to say that the evil rampaging through America today doesn’t appear so strong that it requires we do something different than we have been to succeed?

Ministers who resist regular fasting miss the entire point of Mark 9:29 which was Jesus saying:

Christians you will lose every time if you only pray when evil is strong.

So, let’s decide that we will respond because Jesus said we will fast and let’s step out telling ministers to begin preaching the importance of fasting on a weekly basis.

Implore them not to cling to intellectual pride, saying that there is no obligation to fast weekly. Implore them to respond with a generous heart seeing how the direction they are leading is not succeeding and the church is failing in its struggle with evil just as the apostles failed in their struggle with evil in Mark 9.

Spiritual health is like physical health – it requires regular effort. Would you say that you could get in shape by exercising one season a year? Your exercise seasons? Each January?

That is a ludicrous idea.

Similarly, you cannot fast for part of a year, or one month a year and believe you will have the same spiritual health. Jesus showed us that the Pharisees tithed and fasted two days per week. Neither was done due to generosity, but because that was the minimum required by law.

And Jesus told John’s disciples who fasted like the Pharisees, that His disciples would fast after our chief party planner went to heaven just as they fasted.

Yesterday the most widely studied New Testament passage in the world was Saint Paul’s warning to us in Corinthians chapter 2:

Beware of a different gospel.

Could it be that the gospels in the Bible as it is assembled today in its dramatically shortened version …  is missing anything? Could it be as the Didache stated that part of the gospel is indeed all believers are obligated to fast each Wednesday and Friday?

Such granularity from the first century has been extracted from modern Christianity.

Then if not by law let us respond generously and fast twice a week, going further than you may think is required, making an extra effort. Evangelize to your ministers so that we no longer have to ask the question “Why Lord can’t we take back our church and country?” As we fast, the tide will turn, and like the apostles’ experience, victory over evil will be for believers.

Why We Fast – Our Core Fasting Intentions

1) We add the new fasting intention of taking back the church from evil. We submit the three-step process to achieve this victory is 1-Repent, 2-Prayer & Fasting and, 3-Imitate our Savior by throwing the evil leadership from the church. We will seek to emulate the Savior in our effort to End The USCCB, an organization that has been devastating to the church.  (“You shall know the spirit by the fruits” - Matt. 7:16)

2) For the Holy Spirit to reign down upon America, renewing our land as the Christian, capitalist meritocracy we were founded to be.

3) For the protection of our police, firefighters, military and their families from harm and that the Lord bless their courageous generosity on our behalf.

4) For the protection of the families who fast with us, and for God’s blessings of abundance upon them and that true to His word, we will be able to witness that He prospered us in famine.

5) For priests, ministers and all who aspire to lead others to the Lord, that the Holy Spirit will reign down upon them as at Pentecost filling them to overflowing. 

6) For the Americans jailed after January 6th who were admitted to the Capitol building by the police, and who were not found to have destroyed any property at the capitol yet who have been held captive ever since on our own soil - That God's Spirit will move quickly to bring justice back to this land and free them.
