Today, October 7th marks the Feast of Our Lady of the Rosary, commemorating the miraculous defeat of the Muslims who desired to crush Christianity, aka Western Civilization, and all of Europe in 1571. The Pope at the time, St Pius V had beseeched all Christians to pray the rosary fervently. As a Dominican, the pope was an inheritor of the famous rosary prayer which, it is said, the mother of our Savior was permitted by God to give to St. Dominic in the 1100’s. The communication of this prayer from heaven represented an extraordinary moment when the light of Heaven shown through the thin veil that separates us from the eternal and brought with it almost immediate victories over attacks against Christendom including the military victory we recall today. This prayer is one of the oldest in Christendom after the prayer that Jesus taught His disciples.

One quote that we have recently encountered is from an even earlier Pope, Adrian VI, who said, “The rosary is the scourge of the devil.”

The scourge!

Think about that. When you  suspect that someone has sold his or her soul for political power, money, or fame, one of the most powerful tools you can wield is the scourge of the rosary. Imagine for a moment how powerful and vicious the demon you are battling with for your son, daughter, home, safety or career might look like. Would the naked eye ever think that little us could be victorious against such a powerful, ruthless and hate-filled demon?  To see the deadening impact your prayer was having on evil would almost seem surreal. Wouldn’t that spur you on to keep praying? Beyond your immediate need, you may also have saved a soul from hell while stopping evil in its tracks. 

What is it about this prayer that it is so feared by the Chinese Communist Party?

Why is it so feared by the Freemasons?

And why is it so feared by the modern US media? (One only has to look at the most recent attack in Atlantic Monthly a few weeks ago to see this is still the case today)

All have all singled it out for ridicule with the Chinese Communist Party calling rosary supporters, public enemy #1.

If evil despises a prayer - then we ought to pick it up and use it!

We are praying the words of scripture when we repeat Gabriel’s greeting: 

"Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with you.” 

Though Mary was “greatly troubled” when she first heard the angel’s greeting, as the years passed and her role in salvation story unfolded, she must have continually savored the echo of those words which started it all.  And the words which Elizabeth practically shouted to Mary as she approached her house in the hill country must have made Mary smile from ear to ear: 

“Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb!”

“I know," perhaps Mary responded, “I can hardly believe it myself!” How did that news reach Elizabeth so quickly, AND she believed???

And then,

Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death. 

Some people are cautious about Mary’s title "Mother of God," as if it makes her greater than God, but then again, if we believe that Jesus is God, then clearly, she is the Mother of God. This title Theotokos (God-bearer) was necessary to eradicate the Arian heresy which denied that Jesus was God. So Mary’s title, “Mother of God" has been around since the earliest centuries. 

Your fasting is only spiritually powerful if it is attached to prayer.

Otherwise, it is just a dietary change.

So, we encourage you to become a daily prayer warrior, especially tapping into the extraordinary prayer of the rosary. Your prayers and fasting will supercharge each other. God bless all that you sacrifice for the Kingdom of God.

Editor’s Note – Today some of us will be attending a celebratory gathering that has been planned for months. Knowing this we fasted all day yesterday for our 2^nd full day of fasting this week in light of this special occasion.

6) For the Americans jailed after January 6th who were admitted to the Capitol building by the police, and who were not found to have destroyed any property at the capitol yet who have been held captive ever since on our own soil - That God's Spirit will move quickly to bring justice back to this land by freeing them while enlightening Americans how to bring God's justice back to our nation.

7) For young Megan who has an incurable liver condition @ Duke Hospital - Asking the Divine Physician for a complete healing.
