We are so glad you are onboard and fasting together with us, because there is so much work to be done. The devil and his minions never take a break, and neither should we! Our fasting breaks the power of evil more decisively than we know or can even imagine.

That’s why the practice of fasting has endured from the earliest days of the church. Jesus said that His disciples would begin fasting after He left, and they did, of course. For two millennia, Christians have considered prayer, fasting, and almsgiving part of being followers of Christ. We have examples of spiritual giants up and down the centuries who knew that fasting was a "power tool" against the devil:  St Paul in the first century, Fr Vianney post French Revolution, and Padre Pio in the last century to name just three. The last two physically wrestled with the evil one!

GK Chesterton said, “One of the most brilliant things that the devil has ever done was to get people not to believe in him. It was brilliant. Can you see?? Just take the first letter off of the word “devil" and you see the “evil.” It's in plain sight! If there is no devil, then really there is no need to combat evil- we just need more legislation, more social justice.

No wonder fasting has been in such decline!! Nearly everyone one of us on this list, when introduced to the practice, had only a small recognition of fasting as being "something that some people did somewhere” when we first heard about it. The clever deception of the devil is on full display when our pastors don’t preach about it, and most people only know about intermittent fasting for health. Tomorrow let’s include in our prayers that more and more and more people, including those in our own families, will recognize how important fasting is to renew the world. It’s akin to beefing up our military!

Lastly, we want to encourage everyone to keep an eye out for the movie Padre Pio coming out in September. The renowned actor Shia LeBeouf was suicidal with depression when he was asked to take the role portraying the 20^th century evangelist. All of the trappings of success LeBeouf had earned were just that, trappings,  and he saw little hope for his future.    LeBeouf decided to take the role however and he began spending time with Pio’s brotherhood when his life took a dramatic turn. The catalyst proved to be the exhortation from the friars that if LeBeouf really wanted to do a thorough job in researching Pio there was one thing the actor had to do: Read the gospels.  What began simply as professional immersion to know Padre Pio, became life changing. Coupled with the kind acceptance and gentle teaching of the Capuchin monks, he has now become Catholic, praise God!  We encourage you to watch the 1:20 minute interview with Bishop Barron (may be watched over a couple of days) along with any other documentaries or resources on Padre Pio, an extraordinary priest who said he would not enter heaven until all of his spiritual children were safely there. You will be immensely blessed.

Never stop adding spiritual firepower to the forces of good as you hamstring the forces of evil. Every quiet, meditative scripture reading, every rosary, every meal fasted, every dollar given charitably helps the battle in the spiritual realm. You have more power than you can imagine. Just you.

6) For the Americans jailed after January 6th who were admitted to the Capitol building by the police, and who were not found to have destroyed any property at the capitol yet who have been held captive ever since on our own soil - That God's Spirit will move quickly to bring justice back to this land by freeing them while enlightening Americans how to bring God's justice back to our nation.

7) For young Megan who has an incurable liver condition @ Duke Hospital - Asking the Divine Physician for a complete healing.
