Yesterday, the most studied gospel passage in the world was from Luke 19, the story of Zacchae'us. In this passage Jesus says to the money chaser who is looked down upon by most in his day:
5 "Zacchae'us, make haste and come down; for I must stay at your house today."
Our Savior looks up into the tree where the sinner was perched and calls Zacchae'us by name. Jesus knew Zacchae'us and knew all about him, just like He calls you by name.
Then Jesus tells Zacchae'us that our Lord's enthusiasm to be with Zacchae'us is so great that Jesus wishes him to “make haste“ so they could share dinner together that very evening at Zacchae'us' home.
How often do committees analyze and paralyze in making decisions, too concerned about what can go wrong? In contrast our Savior says,
Let's live life and savor this wonderful day the Father has given us.
Don’t delay. Don’t be slow. Jesus literally says “make haste” to prepare for the coming of Messiah, who wishes to come to share dinner with believers.
These are the same words scripture uses to describe how Mary conducted herself moments after the Holy Spirit filled her in a unique way. Scripture tells us Mary “made haste“ to bring the savior on His first road trip, once again to a home of believers, the parents of the prophet John.
Jesus may be King of the universe, but notice that it still made Him so happy that the sinner Zacchae'us welcomed Jesus into his home. And so as we fast today, ahead of our great feast tomorrow, let us really prepare for our next dinner -
Be sure to invite our Savior to come and join you as the guest of honor at your banquet wherever you may be throughout this great nation tomorrow.
He will only come if He is invited, but He wishes to bless you with His presence and bless the time that you and your families will share together. He enriches our feast in a way that nothing else can.
Lastly as the excitement for Thanksgiving crescendos, we wanted to pass on an idea for a tradition you may wish to start in your family. Tonight, after everyone has arrived home or tomorrow before the big feast, consider turning off the TV, gather your children, grandchildren and loved ones and play The Thanksgiving Game.
Have everyone write down their answers to a handful of questions that you pose, all leading the mind and spirit towards gratitude to the Lord.
You may wish to consider asking the same questions every year and expect you will find it so interesting how you and your family have responded to these questions over time. Reflecting on these answers in the future will bring back great memories including how impactful people have been in our lives that we may have lost touch with. Have fun designing the questions with your family. Examples could include:
What day of the year since last Thanksgiving, are you most grateful for to the Lord?
Who outside of our family and those present here are you most grateful for to the Lord?
Which new person did the Holy Spirit send into your life in the last year that you are most grateful for?
What restaurant are you most grateful for from the last year that has brought you joy, good memories and a happy belly?
Which trip or day off from work and school was the most special for you over the last year?
When we’re not fasting, what wine or favorite drink are you most grateful for over the last year?
How about a tougher question - which difficulty did we endure over the last year that we are now grateful the Lord allowed us to experience?
And perhpas a good concluding question - What are you most grateful for about your home?
… So we wish you a wonderful Thanksgiving celebration, made even more festive and joyful with the presence of our Savior who gladly accepts your invitation to dine together.
Thank you for fasting with us today – it will make tomorrow’s feast even more special.
God bless and God bless America. It is so exciting to see the turn of America and see revival within our nation taking shape.
1) We add the new fasting intention of taking back the church from evil. We submit the three-step process to achieve this victory is 1-Repent, 2-Prayer & Fasting and, 3-Imitate our Savior by throwing the evil leadership from the church. We will seek to emulate the Savior in our effort to End The USCCB, an organization that has been devastating to the church. (“You shall know the spirit by the fruits” - Matt. 7:16)
2) For the Holy Spirit to reign down upon America, renewing our land as the Christian, capitalist meritocracy we were founded to be.
3) For the protection of our police, firefighters, military and their families from harm and that the Lord bless their courageous generosity on our behalf.
4) For the protection of the families who fast with us, and for God’s blessings of abundance upon them and that true to His word, we will be able to witness that He prospered us in famine.

We maintain a repository of ideas and information we have learned over the last decade while fasting weekly for America. Together let us also implore Heaven while fasting for intentions you have highlighted:
4) For all patriots who put themselves on the front lines in combatting evil and for all of the warriors who are stepping up around the nation to fight for the gospel – May The Father cover them in the blood of our savior, protect them and their families from evil and bring victory to their endeavors.
5) For priests, ministers and all who aspire to lead others to the Lord, that the Holy Spirit will reign down upon them as at Pentecost filling them to overflowing.
6) For the Americans jailed after January 6th who were admitted to the Capitol building by the police, and who were not found to have destroyed any property at the capitol yet who have been held captive ever since on our own soil - That God's Spirit will move quickly to bring justice back to this land and free them.
