25 Now in the fourth watch of the night Jesus went to them, walking on the sea. 26 And when the disciples saw Him walking on the sea, they were troubled, saying, “It is a ghost!” And they cried out for fear.
27 But immediately Jesus spoke to them, saying, [c]“Be of goodcheer![d]It is I; do not be afraid.”
28 And Peter answered Him and said, “Lord, if it is You, command me to come to You on the water.”
29 So He said, “Come.” And when Peter had come down out of the boat, he walked on the water to go to Jesus. 30 But when he saw [e]that the wind was boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink he cried out, saying, “Lord, save me!”
31 And immediately Jesus stretched out His hand and caught him, and said to him, “O you oflittle faith, why did you doubt?”32 And when they got into the boat, the wind ceased.
33 Then those who were in the boat [f]came and worshiped Him, saying, “Truly You are the Son of God.” - Matthew 14
For many, the scene above is one of our favorites from all of scriptures.
What a dramatic and beautiful moment. It was so powerful, that the apostles finally understood Jesus was not a prophet and finally pronounced their faith. And while modern versions of scripture such as the NIV disingenuously call the time of day “shortly before dawn” the KJV and DR explicitly say Jesus revealed himself in this way during the 4th watch which begins at 3AM. Then like today God reveals Himself most powerfully at that time when we imitate our savior and rise making Him the first fruits of our day. When we place Him above all the pressures and demands on our time.
In Medjugorje, Heaven’s real time school of instruction in a world tormented by demons, Heaven speaks to the essence of this scripture passage –
"The only attitude of the Christian toward the future is hope of salvation. Those who think only of wars, evils, punishment do not do well." - 1983
"If you think of evil, punishment, wars, you are on the road to meeting them. - August 1984
What are we spending more time on, focusing on war or focusing on Jesus?
Jesus is the solution to our troubles. Is that practical? We felt the Spirit whispered to share with Jews and Christians alike:
The Pathway to Peace Begins With Repentance
Isn’t that consistent with scriptures?
When God’s people abandoned the commandments, their cities were destroyed, their protection disintegrated – even the simplest and most obvious victories eluded them. (Sound a little like today?)
The first step towards restoration for the Jews was always repentance. Specifically let us focus on the first three commandments and repenting to God for how we offend Him – above all putting false gods ahead of Him. Medjugorje suggests the most important scripture passage for our times is the passage telling us we cannot serve God and the god of money. We must choose one or the other and we show our choices first in how we spend our time.
Don’t have time to pray because … ?
Then what keeps us from prayer is our God. No job prevents us from rising a little earlier to place Him first.
And how often do we take His name in vain?
Do we work on the Sabbath?
Let us remember, Jesus’ simple words from John 14:15
“If you love me, you will obey my commandments.”
Let it sink in that suggests if we don’t keep His commandments then from His perspective, the only perspective that matters, we don’t love Him.
Each day, let us try to find the areas of our lives that offend Him and wring them out a little better. A good relationship is not possible if one party is consciously doing exactly what the other says is most important for us to avoid. It is that simple.
And then, once we have made the effort in the morning to repent, let us practice what Medjugorje suggests is the single most important element of our spiritual lives:
Simply to believe.
Belief, that which unlocked every miracle in scripture.
Let us believe His word. That He will protect, He will provide.
Our God reciprocates with The Law of The Exponential – He cannot be outgiven.
And so, as our whisps of love manifest in the smallest way to Heaven, then we can expect His love to invade our life, our home, our workplace, our town, and our country.
The Love Invasion.
Medjugorje made the clear statement – Peace will not come from Presidents.
The point was –peace will come from you, after you first make peace with God.
Your belief is not only the most practical solution to our world’s needs, it is the only solution to our world’s needs.
In conclusion here is a link to a song by Newsboys that we hope you will enjoy singing as part of your daily songs of praise, We Believe.
As the song’s writers brilliantly penned …
In this time of desperation
When all we know is doubt and fear
There is only one foundation
We believe, we believe
In this broken generation
When all is dark, You help us see
There is only one salvation
We believe, we believe
… So, let our faith be more than anthems
Greater than the songs we sing
And in our weakness and temptations
We believe, we believe!
… Let the lost be found and the dead be raised!
In the here and now, let love invade!
And the gates of hell will not prevail!
For the power of God, has torn the veil!
Now we know Your love will never fail!
We believe, we believe!
Thank you for fasting with us today as first century Christians wrote all believers are obligated to do every Wednesday and Friday. You will be glad you made the effort for all of eternity.
1) We add the new fasting intention of taking back the church from evil. We submit the three-step process to achieve this victory is 1-Repent, 2-Prayer & Fasting and, 3-Imitate our Savior by throwing the evil leadership from the church. We will seek to emulate the Savior in our effort to End The USCCB, an organization that has been devastating to the church. (“You shall know the spirit by the fruits” - Matt. 7:16)
2) For the Holy Spirit to reign down upon America, renewing our land as the Christian, capitalist meritocracy we were founded to be.
3) For the protection of our police, firefighters, military and their families from harm and that the Lord bless their courageous generosity on our behalf.
4) For the protection of the families who fast with us, and for God’s blessings of abundance upon them and that true to His word, we will be able to witness that He prospered us in famine.
Would you like to learn more about fasting?
We maintain a repository of ideas and information we have learned over the last decade while fasting weekly for America. From scientific studies on the benefits of fasting, to the differences between intermittent dieting vs intermittent fasting, to scriptural references regarding the power of fasting to the history of first century Christians who stated believers are obligated to fast weekly, we hope you will find numerous insights with our free resource located here.
Together let us also implore Heaven while fasting for intentions you have highlighted:
4) For all patriots who put themselves on the front lines in combatting evil and for all of the warriors who are stepping up around the nation to fight for the gospel – May The Father cover them in the blood of our savior, protect them and their families from evil and bring victory to their endeavors.
5) For priests, ministers and all who aspire to lead others to the Lord, that the Holy Spirit will reign down upon them as at Pentecost filling them to overflowing.
6) For the Americans jailed after January 6th who were admitted to the Capitol building by the police, and who were not found to have destroyed any property at the capitol yet who have been held captive ever since on our own soil - That God's Spirit will move quickly to bring justice back to this land and free them.
