Last Friday after considerable effort and travel, the expansion strategy that our company had been pursuing ended in disappointment. We had thought the situation was a divine introduction and this enhancement to our capabilities would have been very significant. After the markets closed however we learned that another party had essentially renewed its option at the last moment, cutting us out of the potential deal.

As a team we praised the Lord over the weekend for this outcome because although it wasn't what we desired, we have confidence that it is what is best for us. If we knew everything that the Lord knew, we would have rooted for this exact outcome. Either He spared us a lot of unexpected anguish that would have come from the venture, or He has .something better in mind for us elsewhere.

Today the most studied gospel in the world is from John 12:24-26:

24 Truly, truly, I say to you, unless a grain of wheat falls into the earth and dies, it remains alone; but if it dies, it bears much fruit.

Similarly, the most studied epistle from the New Testament worldwide is from 2 Corinthians 9:6-10:

6The point is this: he who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and he who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. 7Each one must do as he has made up his mind, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. 8And God is able to provide you with every blessing in abundance, so that you may always have enough of everything and may provide in abundance for every good work.

So today as we start our fast that will change history forever and bring about more good than we imagine, take a moment this morning and praise the Father with us for whatever grains have died recently, be the plans you had aspired to, a new job, a school admission, a relationship, or even the death of a loved one who gets to go to heaven ahead of us. We praise you Jesus and trust you for you turn every heartache and disappointment into great good and we can't wait to see How all of these brush strokes fit into your masterpiece that you will reveal to us in the joy of heaven.

Come Holy Spirit come and reign down on us, our families, our first responders and our nation as we fast today. Open our eyes to truth, give us a hunger to see Your will enacted, crush evil in all of its plans, and bless us with the abundance Your word speaks of, in Jesus' name.

Thank you for fasting with us today - You will be glad you made the effort for all of eternity.

6) For the Americans jailed after January 6th who were admitted to the Capitol building by the police, and who were not found to have destroyed any property at the capitol yet who have been held captive ever since on our own soil - That God's Spirit will move quickly to bring justice back to this land by freeing them while enlightening Americans how to bring God's justice back to our nation.

7) For young Megan who has an incurable liver condition @ Duke Hospital - Asking the Divine Physician for a complete healing.
