Revisiting the theme of Pentecost, which is this Sunday’s extraordinary feast, consider again the words of Jesus to go and do greater miracles than even He had done with the Spirit by our side.
Obviously, Jesus was not saying anyone themselves could do miracles. But that believers could call down the Holy Spirit and that the Spirit would bless believers with extraordinary miracles because Jesus’ followers asked this of the Spirit.
Which begs a question believers should contemplate:
What have been the greatest miracles since the Bible was written?
What would you say?
We welcome your feedback as to what the greatest miracles have been. To us however objectively the greatest miracles since scripture was written all triangulate around a single theme. These miracles that even Jesus Himself had not performed all dovetail around Mary, mother of the Redeemer. And in some ways, each miracle has an element so extraordinary about it, one could say this is a fulfillment of Jesus’ command to go and do greater things than even He had done.
There has been a conspicuous commonality with each miracle as well, a common thread woven into the tapestry of the Queen’s presence. And that common theme is massive conversions. Literally millions of conversions, the ultimate goal for all Christians.
In some cases, these miracles of such wonder literally leave lasting signs such that skeptics to this day can go and see centuries later, and that science still is unable to explain.
Miracles such as Guadalupe where 500 years later the miraculous image, one that should have disintegrated on its burlap 450 years ago, remains plainly visible to all. This image and its eyes, its temperature, its distance from the tilma, its application, and a host of other attributes are simply unexplainable by science.
Or Las Lajas, where there was an acknowledged resurrection from the dead, and where again a lasting sign is visible centuries later, but explanations elude science. How did the image get on the rock? What is the image made of? And how did the image penetrate the rock so that it is unchanged even with drill cores several feet deep?
And what of Lourdes? The arid region where springs of healing water began to flow on the day of Mary’s visit. Those healing streams continue to flow to this day and now the church built to honor the occasion is literally covered with crutches and signs of hundreds of healings that have taken place there.
And Fatima? Where 75,000 people, many of whom entered the grove as skeptics if not self-proclaimed atheists - where to a person visitors emerged as devout believers in Jesus after seeing the heavens thrown about like pebbles. And while there was not a lasting sign for anyone to see in Fatima, Fatima seemed to echo the Old Testament passage of Elijah, where Elijah taunted pagan believers to cover the altar and mountain area in water such that it could not possibly be set ablaze. Elijah then of course called upon the Lord and as the fire reigned down the saturated area dried exploded in flame and pagan worshippers were made believers. In Fatima torrential rains had created mud so thick chariots were stuck and abandoned the day of the miracle. Within seconds of Fatima’s heavenly firescape, unexplainably the mud was instantly dried from the fiery moment and as with Elijah, pagan worshippers were converted en masse.
And lastly how about Medjugorje, today? Where fiery writing appeared in the skies, flaming letters for all to see in the region in massive writing that hovered above the town. In Medjugorje, the only site in 2,000 years of church history where the apparition has been approved (The first days’ messages have been approved by the church) before the final phenomena, a promise has also been given for a lasting sign.
So - What is the takeaway as we head into Pentecost this Sunday, one of the church’s most extraordinary feasts?
That the Spirit is with his bride in a way that we have not seen Him with any other.
The miracles and signs left behind by the Spirit following her homilies are unmatched. And as Jesus told the pharisees, the signs demonstrate we should pay attention to her message as the Spirit is witnessing to the truth of her words which across the centuries has always been the same: “Do whatever Jesus tells you.”
And as she expands on that message she tells us three things:
Repent. Stop offending the Lord, who is greatly offended by society’s unwillingness to live by His commandments.
Pray. Do not let a single day go by thinking that you can get through a day without praying because whether you realize it or not, evil will make inroads in your life if you are not praying daily. Within the topic of prayer, read scriptures daily, pray the rosary daily and the Eucharist should be the center and summit all Christian prayer.
Fast weekly as the first century Christians commanded us, knowing that bread and water is the best fast and that by combining our prayers with fasting we can even stop wars and reverse nature, words that are so encouraging.
Thank you for fasting with us today. You’ll be glad you made for all of eternity
1) We add the new fasting intention of taking back the church from evil. We submit the three-step process to achieve this victory is 1-Repent, 2-Prayer & Fasting and, 3-Imitate our Savior by throwing the evil leadership from the church. We will seek to emulate the Savior in our effort to End the USCCB, an organization that has been devastating to the church. (“You shall know the spirit by the fruits” - Matt. 7:16)
2) For the Holy Spirit to reign down upon America, renewing our land as the Christian, capitalist meritocracy we were founded to be.
3) For the protection of our police, firefighters, military and their families from harm and that the Lord bless their courageous generosity on our behalf.
4) For the protection of the families who fast with us, and for God’s blessings of abundance upon them and that true to His word, we will be able to witness that He prospered us in famine.

We maintain a repository of ideas and information we have learned over the last decade while fasting weekly for America. From scientific studies on the benefits of fasting, to the differences between intermittent dieting vs intermittent fasting, to scriptural references regarding the power of fasting to the history of first century Christians who stated believers are obligated to fast weekly, we hope you will find numerous insights with our free resource located here.
Together let us also implore Heaven while fasting for intentions you have highlighted:
4) For all patriots who put themselves on the front lines in combatting evil and for all of the warriors who are stepping up around the nation to fight for the gospel – May The Father cover them in the blood of our savior, protect them and their families from evil and bring victory to their endeavors.
5) For priests, ministers and all who aspire to lead others to the Lord, that the Holy Spirit will reign down upon them as at Pentecost filling them to overflowing.
6) For the Americans jailed after January 6th who were admitted to the Capitol building by the police, and who were not found to have destroyed any property at the capitol yet who have been held captive ever since on our own soil - That God's Spirit will move quickly to bring justice back to this land and free them.
