90% Silver U.S. Quarters – $1 Face Value (Junk Silver)
Pre-1965 90% Silver U.S. coins are commonly referred to as “junk silver.” These coins were removed from circulation following the Coinage Act of 1965, which ended the use of silver in everyday U.S. coinage due to rising production costs. Modern coins are now minted using copper and nickel instead.
Although they carry a face value of $0.25, 90% silver quarters are worth significantly more because of their intrinsic silver content. Each coin is composed of 90% silver and 10% copper, making them a practical and recognizable form of fractional silver bullion.
These coins are sold based on face value. A quantity of 1 equals $1 face value, which includes (4) pre-1965 silver quarters.
All coins have been previously circulated, so individual condition, dates, and mint marks will vary. This adds to their historical character while maintaining consistent silver content across each lot.
